I have a mowen single knob shower faucet that wont allow for warm water please help!?
Question:Usually when you turn the knob to the right you get cold water and the left is the hot water but that is not the case here. They are labeled that way but when you turn the knob to the right you get HOT water steaming hot impossible to take a shower and when you turn the knob to the left you get freezing cold water.. the middle would make sense as to be where you would get the warm water but that is the off position and the closer you get to the middle the less pressure you receive. There is no warm water setting. Please let me know what I need to do in order to get warm water shooting out so I can enjoy a shower again.

O.K. Here is the deal the valve stem is in wrong.you need to pull the stem out and turn it 180 degrees.
it sounds like it would not work you are saying what difference does it make trust me it does I have been doing this as part of my job as a maint. man for 30 years now.
The reason it will not get warm is because the mixing part of the valve is stuck internally to fix this all you need to do is while you have the valve out try and shake it back and forth you should hear the insert(A small stainless steel barrel shaped tube) in side the valve sliding back and forth if you do not just hit the stem against your hand until this breaks free (it is common for these to get stuck do to a small piece of calcium etc. getting wedged in there it does not take a whole lot)and you can here it sliding back and fourth inside.Once you have freed this up put the valve back together and remember to check it for the correct operation before you reinstall all the trim and stuff by(before turning on the water make sure you have the retaining pin in place) turning on the water and just testing it real quickly. This should solve the problems and if not remember Moen valves do go bad but very rarely. They are the best valve on the market and they are also guaranteed for life so if you cannot fix it contact moen and they will send you a new one free.
It sounds like your faucet is defective and you need to repair it or replace it and stop playing around with it. I ain't worth the hassle.
it was put in upside down, easy to do!
