Problem with the boiler, not getting hot water?
Question:I have a potterton netaheat 10-16 condensing boiler. At the start of the hot weather in March I mistakenly switched off the heating and from then on never got hot water in the taps luckily I have an electric shower. Can anyone give advice or do I have to seek professional help?

Can't quite remember neataheat being of the condensing type, but then it's been so long since potterton stopped producing them?
Is it plugged in?
Check that the programmer is not switched off for the hot water circuit. You may have switched off the whole system and not just the heating part. If all settings are OK then the 3 way valve may be faulty. Always check out the simple things first. Could be a fuse blown. Sit down and look at the system in small pieces and check each possibility.
There are a lot of things that could have happened.
Assuming the boiler itself hasn't been messed about with, then the problem probably lies with the controller or a stuck 3 way valve so i'd get a local plumber in to have a look if i were you.
Could be your water pressure. I'm having the same problem but I can't find the mains tap or get anyone who knows where it is. There could be a blockage, or just the tap has got knocked to slow position.
Always best for a Corgi Registered Engineer to take a look if you are not sure what the problem is. Try this first before calling one out, check the ball valve to the feed and expansion tank probably stuck up so lack of water to the primary circuit, just waggle it to restore flow to tank should be problem solved.
Good luck.
