My screen is going funny while they install carpet next door... why?

Question:The next door neighbors in my apartment moved out, and maintenance is installing new carpet. They're right on the other side of the wall from me. While they hammer, my computer screen jolts - but the computer itself isn't moving at all. What's happening? They won't mess anything up in the wall, will they?

Answers:
probably one of your feeds for your computor may be wired under the area.. possibly a connection point...most likely it may be loose or smply the pounding is making the connection erratic

People ALWAYS mess things up! Sounds like they're either interfering with whatever connection you have, either between the computer and your electrical source (most likely) OR between your tower and monitor. Check the connections on the back of your computer, then in your walls, etc. If they're fine, then complain to your neighbors! Why let THEM ruin your computer?
power tools will do it every time, the electro-magnetic impulse, if you don't believe me place a magnet on top of your screen and see how it changes, the rubber duck told you that.
