Drain for sump pump, need some ideas?!?
Question:I have a basement sump pump. That works fine. The problem is where to drain the water. The ground outside is uneven and when the water comes out the drain it flow back towards the house. I tried to dig a ditch, but to much water was going to the neighbors property. Need any ideas!

In most areas, it would be illegal to empty your sump into the sanitary sewer either through a direct connection or by emptying into a laundry tub.
If the landscaping around your home is graded so that water can flow back to the house, you really need to have this corrected. You would reduce the amount of water coming in to start with, so there would be less to pump back out. This situation can cause foundation problems if left alone.
You need to run a discharge pipe far enough from the house to get to an area that will drain away from the house. You can discharge to a storm sewer if one is available.
I can only think of two options. One is a dry well but it probably won't hold as much as you need to hold. The second is to route the pump output into the sewer. Look around the place for sewer clean outs and adapt the pump plumbing to it. Be sure it is sealed, you don't want leaking sewer gases, they are flammable and potentially explosive.
Good luck.
do you have a laundry sink in the basement? you can possibly tie your pump line to an existing drain line from that
