Which A.C. units are better, LENNOX or TRANE?

According to Consumers Reports the best a/c are manufactured by American Standard Companies in Texas. They make the TRANE units. It has been top rated for 8-10 years.
I would choose the Trane over the Lennox any day.

they both are,the best thing to do is to go by energy rating, and consumers guide,as far as repair record,warranty,and efficiency.
York! Our was put in ,in 1976, and is still running strong today! Only needed regular maintenance,such as new fuses, filters once a year, and oiled (I guess) Check into how long the other two last -problem free!
i would take the trane unit over the lummox brand...lummox tends to have more parts in them that (eventually will wear out and need replacement) you can only buy from the manufacturer making them more expensive...trane units tend to have more parts that are likely to be available through channels other than the manufacturer only thus making out of warranty service on the trane unit much cheaper there are many other fine brands out there so don't limit yourself...Heil,Carrier,Keepri... etc...i would also stay away from Armstrong,Airease,Ducane as they are all Lennox products and I'd stay away from Goodman/Amana because i just don't personally like them.
