I have stale water in back of fridge in a plastic thing over the motor how do i clean it out?
Question:its really smelly and in the back above the motor thing how do i clean the water out
Answers:
The "plastic thing" is the modern "drain pan" and the "motor" is the "compressor". When you open the door, you let warm moist air into the refrigerator, and the moisture freezes out of the air... The unit goes into a defrost and melts this moisture off of the evaporator coil, and it drains down to the pan. The heat of the compressor ussually evaporates this water. You can sponge it out and pour a little bleach in there for the smell, but if it is not evaporating, I would question why there is so much!! Have the doors been left open by accident? Are the door seals good?
Hope this gives you insight about the unit..

An old sponge, unless you have a wet vac.
turkey baster
Take a kitchen towel and mop it out and then use a little
dishwahing detergent and clean it. after wards pour a box of
baking soda in it and refill it with water, because it is what
keeps the compressor temperature down and working properly. Feel the compressor to make sure that it is hot and
it will evaporate the water as it heats it up. For a more indepth
