Troy bilt sickle bar mower?

Question:Troy bilt sickle bar mower 4 hp engine is gone.Can't find another engine.(Brigs & Stratton)
Is there a substitute engine available on the market?

You should be able to find a B&S 5, or even 8 hp engine that would be suitable. Check on eBay. You may have to redrill the mounting holes in your sickle mower to fit the slightly larger engine and you will likely need a longer drive belt.

There is almost certainly a replacement engine available from some supplier. What you need is a technical specification, say a certain horsepower with a certain kind of power take-off, etc. Take the machine to a machinery repair shop and see if they can't help with the tech spec and a source to by the engine.
