Your problem is most likely the igniter and if you are the least bit handy you can save yourself the repairman's fee-the site will walk you through the process and even ship the part
If you don't know, I have one suggestion after 35 years of servicing gas appliances, gas is not be played with by the inexperienced. Call the person that knows. I have met to many people who wanted to save a buck or two and found out the did not.
piece of cake/replace glow coil
if it does glow and its kinda
orange its still bad.It is NEVER the gas valve in 99% of cases
if the gas valve has continuity and it aint leaking then it IS good. here is how it works, power is applied to the oven when the thermostat is turned on,the glow coil comes on
when it reaches amp draw between 3.5 and 4.0 the oven valve opens.and the gas ignites on the burner. if the glowcoil is drawing less than 3 amps it is BAD. this is an easy fix and does not require you messing with any of the gas carrying parts of the stove. In most cases the GR412 generic replacement glowcoil will work fine.
