How can I elimate graffiti?
Question:Hi,
I own a store in a relatively graffiti prone area. I have been using paint to paint over tags and such ever since I have purchased the store and for the most part it has solved the problem. However due to the fact that I've applied so much paint it is beginning to peel off in the afternoon sun and doesn't look very nice.
I am going to scrape all the paint off and give the walls a new coat and colour. I am interested in applying some sort of sealant so that graffiti can be scratched or wiped off without the need for paint, however I have no idea where I can buy these products??
Also I want get rid of scratchitti on the windows, sacrificial layers have worked but are expensive and time consuming to replace. So I want to purchase a metal mesh screen and stick it onto the window so that scratches can't be made and so that people can still see in and out of the store, any help here would also be appreciated.
P.S My walls are made from brick as well as several plastic pvc walls.

This may sound stupid to you but just listen...If I were you I would hire a really good graffiti artist to do a huge, fancy piece to cover the wall. By piece I mean something that takes some skill, not a black marker. They could put the name of the store up. They won't charge you much and a lot of the younger kids will do it for free if you get the paint. Graffiti artist usually have a understanding not to tag over each other (unless it is gang stuff, whole other thing) and also a huge piece would have so many colors and busy stuff going on in it that it would camouflage anything written on there for a while to come. Most of the good graffiti artist keep books and pictures of their work just like other artist do, so you can see how good they are.
Sand blast them then re-paint them.
I am not sure what kind of sealant you can use but here is an idea as well as doing that. Get a light with a motion sensor and make sure it is bright. This way it will come on if anyone comes near the building and may be a deterrent for them to do damage.
Thompson's Water Sealant for the brick and a gun for the perpetrator's....just kidding for the latter..but, seriously, where are the police in your area?
Here is a link to removing grafitti. At the bottom of the page is a PDF link on how to remove grafitti from brick surfaces.
I hope this is helpful.

how bout spraying the surface with armor all after you clean the paint off with a heat pistol,,,,as for the windows,,i know about this stuff, ding dong kids have acid damaged hundreds of storefront windows where i live, the resulting acid etch patterns & letters can be removes by polishing the glass with a rotay buffing tool,(soft type bonnett) and a polishing compound calles cerium oxide, this is what window factories and oldtimer window repairers ,if they're still around,to remove small defects & scratches from glass, the stuff must remain a bit damp during application, its a bit tiring ,but you keep at it until the etching is gone,,,,,,shop owners usually don't know that this can be done, versus spending 400 pounds to have entire window replaced,
SAMANTHA HAS YOUR BEST ANSWER. MAKE A FRIENDLY DEAL WITH SOMEONE WHO WILL DO AN ARTWORK AND HE MAY EVEN REPAIR IT IF DAMAGED. IT'S CHEAPER. NOT RIGHT, BUT CHEAPER.
