Can you tell me how I can remove a tap top which is stuck onto the spindle please.?
Question:I have removed the retaining screw in the top, and tried to lossen the top with grips etc, and appied limescale remover in the hope this might free it up. Any ideas please

Try appling heat to it if possible.
Also if you`re not working with plastics, try some PB Blaster. Most parts stores carry it. You may also resort to some sort of puller. Consult a plumber, most will answer simple questions such as this one.
gentle tapping with heat might do the trick, good luck!
You can buy a puller specific for the job. Home depot will carry one in the plumbing section. It operates like a corkscrew. It has opposing set of hooks that clasp under the faucet handles then you turn the handle on the tool to rais eit up. Very easy and inexpensive tool.
WD-40 was made for this kind of problem.
