Washing machine problem?

Question:Well the problem is as soon as the machine start to fill, water leaks from the bottom. I'm sure that the problem is not associated with an engine but could it be a water pump or something else.
How can I check for the problem, thanks.

Answers:
Since water runs down hill, all leaks will look like they are coming from the bottom. We need to trace all possible sources. The most likely problem if the washing machine has been moved recently is the the fill hoses may not be attached securely. You may have some dribble from the fill solenoids in the back, also. You might try closing the hot and cold water valves alternately at the wall. If your leaking stops, your leak is in that circuit. I really hope you don't find the leak at the pump, because that can be expensive. Sometimes it is cheaper and easier to replace the washer. Follow the drain hose to the pump with a flashlight.

im not an expert, but the most likely solution is that the drain hose inside the machine gave out, and the water leaks out from that connection...happened to me once, was a ***** to repair, but worth it in the long run..:)
replace the ring rubber at water pump.
Check your inlet hose. Your washing machine has a set of inlet hoses inside. If one of them has a hole it will leak. Also check to see if the leak is coming from the outer basket. Washing machines have two baskets The inner basket which is the one with the holes. The otter basket is the one that is plastic and solid with no holes.
Difficult to answer with knowing what washer you have, but
first, just put it to wash and look for any external leaks from
hoses, etc. If you dont find anything, you have to get to the insides so that you can eyeball the problem. For a better

I won't speculate on what the problem is, everyone else has done that, I just want to tell you how to look for the problem by removing the case. Unplug the WASHER Most washers are pretty easy to inspect and you may be surprised to discover it is pretty easy to take the case off. Most washers have two screws on the back of the control panel one on each lower corner where the panel sits on the the top, after removing these two screws (they are at an angle into the top). the control panel will slide forward a little on the top and then lift up away from the top, flip over out of the way. you will then see a elect connection (plug) that connects the control panel to the lid switch. Unplug this, now there are two metal clips about 3" long that hold the back panel to the top, these can be removed with a flat blade screwdriver. If you look down on the clip it is snapped thru the top and there is just room to insert the screwdriver blade into the clip and pop it up and off the top releasing the top from the back . With these removed you can open the lid grasp the case just a bove the drum, lean it forward and sit it off the washer leaving everything exposed. The back stays in place, the control panel stays in place you just have removed the top, both sides and front all in one step. Depending on the washer type and age you probably can't operate the unit because the safety switch has been disconnected but you can inspect the hoses, pump and associated parts for leaks, cracks, or splits. Some washers can be plugged in and turned on allowing them to fill, they just won't agitate, spin, or do many of the mechanical actions without the safety switch connected and the lid closed.

Good Luck
More than likely you have a leak at the pump itself. I have to ask...has the washer been exposed to freezing temperatures? If so the pump may be cracked. Most newer models have plastic pumps installed on them. The best way to find out where the leaking water is coming from is to first unplug the washer and turn the unit around so you are looking at the back. Remove the screws holding the rear cover in place. Now being very careful not to touch any exposed wires, plug the washer back up and turn it on. If you have to, use a flashlight and search for the source of the leak. Common areas are the pump, hoses, seals. Good luck!
