nice answers all.but NO! first is the flooring particle board? we have to establish the thickness of the product. in a mobile home it is usually 1" particle board they use on flooring. been this way since the 1970's.Measure your thickness if it is 1" us the cutting the flooring out at the joist method. find your joist. cut down the center of the joist in the area you want to replace. now, buy 3/4" plywood cutting it and placing it in the area.this wood should be screwed in using 3 inch screws set at least every 8"s apart. now lay down a layer of paper you can use newspaper for this or buy underlayment paper from your home supply store. this will stop squeaks and noise in the floor. now apply what is called laminate board, or (luan) this product is 1/4" plywood. this will bring your surface even with the existing floor. use a good 5/8" staple gun or slap hammer to adhere this to the subfloor.and while this is not an easy job it is something a homeowner can do themselves if they have knowledge which you seem to have. total job should take 5 hrs and if i came in as a contractor to do this it would cost $650 while doing it yourself will only cost around $100. i hope this has been helpful.
not enough details in the question,if it's a basically sound floor you could plywood over the whole floor to fix the hole and sturdy the rest, some trailers use weak particle board on not many nailers and that's hard to fix yourself
Expose the damaged floor by removing the carpeting. Find the floor joists and cut out the damaged portion of the sub floor along the joists, then replace with a new piece of plywood or particle board the same thickness. Use a circular saw with the blade depth set at the thickness of sub floor, probably 1/2" or 5/8" in a mobile home.
Take a 1/2in piece of plywood, cut it a little larger than the hole, you can lay it over the hole, or you can cut the carpet open and slide it between the hole and the carpet, use a strip of aluminum to cover the open seam in the carpet, nail down.
I hope that helps.
The "easiest" way to fix a hole in the bedroom floor of a mobile home floor, is to go to Lowe's or Home Depot, & buy a sheet of wood that can be used as subflooring. Ask someone there to help you & tell them what it's for. You'd be smart to cover the entire floor not just one spot. Once the wood is nailed down, with the right size nails (not too big) then you can put down a vinyl.
replace the hole floor in the bed room with ply wood then use plummers tape under it to hold the floor in place that is what my uncle did in his older tailer and it really worked well
