Bathtub clog - need help! Don't understand where the drain goes??!?

Question:Okay so I have a very slow draining tub. I heard that I should use a zip it to pull out the hair and it actually worked pretty well on my sink, so I figured I'd use it in the tub. Here's the problem. I can only get it down about 6 inches, and it seems like the tub drain just STOPS. Where is the drain? Why can't I get it down any further? It's very small and flexible. I don't get it?

Answers:
Your probably not even getting to the trap. If there's an overflow on it, your probably just hitting the bottom of the drain fitting. The piping typically runs horizontally from the drain fitting to a tee where the overflow pipe connects then it goes into a trap after that. Try wetting a rag or wad of paper towels, then hold it over the overflow to seal it up as tight as possible and plunge the heck out of it. That might pull the hair back up or push down to a larger pipe where it can escape.

Hire a plumber.
Then use a drainer every time you take a shower or drain the tub
Ok you know the disk just below the faucet? you know where the plug switch is? ok unscrew that an "zip" it that pipe goes straight down . Good Luck
you are hitting the bottom of the trap, normal...try a metal wire( cloth hanger for example) bend the end to make a hook and try it, if you 'r good with your hands you'll make it if not call the maintenance guy, If I were you I wouldn't try to take apart anything because you might not be able to put it back together correctly and you might end up having a leak. good luck..
Hair usually collects at the drain, put some water in and plunge it when some hair comes up grab it and start pulling it our slowly. Have to do it all the time
Yes remove the overflow plateand tha twill give you stright access to the trap. Both the drain and the over flow connect to the trap which is directly bellow the overflow. Good luck.
