Anyone know where I can sell old Barn Wood?

Question:I am looking to buy this old farm house with two large barns on the property. One is in really good shape, and the other one has some amazing wood. Does anyone know companys or people that will buy the reclaimed barn wood. Or someone willing to take the barn down, and keep what they need?

Answers:
Depending on where you live, old barn wood can be a hot item. Call people who do remodeling in your area and ask if they want to buy it. If not, they probably know someone that does. I know I work with several carpenters that do remodeling and they use it for everything now, from accent walls to building kitchen cabinets, but I know they say it's expensive and hard to find in some areas.

Check your phone directory for any local used lumber sales or for a local mill, being that used lumber is a very green thing today, you should have no problem getting rid of it and likely making a buck!
I would scream, yell and cry for some of it in the carpentry business. It's in high demand for picture framing, other types of wood work. Do not give in to low prices. I just paid a high price for some of this wood for picture frames.

Go to Michael's, any other place that makes picture frames or, take it down yourself, hire someone to do it and save the wood for the future and sell it through the paper. Don't destroy it.
