Do I wet the drywall tape? How long to I soak it?

Question:

Answers:
No you not wet drywall tape, use the drywall mud on the wall then apply the tape, them smooth out then apply another layer of mud

NO NO NO !!!
yes just dip it in the water and apply it to the wall
do not.wet the tape , I repeat do not...if it's paper tape, apply some mud on your joint and thn apply the tape over it use a putty knife to smooth down the tape into the mud, you could also use that self adhesive wire plastic tape great for patches and little jobs
If it the yellow one then it's already sticky. If it's the paper one you definatly don't soak it.Just use mud. You should just buy the yellow dry wall tape, it looks like mesh. It will save you a lot of time.
Absolutely, wet the tape by just dragging it through a container of water. Then apply it to a "pre mudded" crack or corner and smooth it on by pressing it on with a knife or corner tool..
Never wet the tape! When you apply it to your mud that is covering the seam, the added moisture causes the first, and second coats to become " Hollow " or sunk in. This won't become apparent until you sand the mud, after the third coat. It will only cause you more work.
