My ac will not come on the blower on the furnace is blowing but the central air unit outrside is not on whats^
Question:
Answers:
could be a few things.
1. your cooling coil in the furnace may be plugged causing the compressor to shut down on high head pressure
2. your condenser (outside unit) may have a plugged coil on it causing the same problem as 1.
3. if you feel confident with electricity, check the breaker/fuses what ever the case may be and if they are ok check the electrical connections on the outside unit. they can get bugs inside the contactor causing the contactor to not close and therefore not power up the unit
if it was a freon issue, most likely the unit would run but not produce any cooling.
It probably needs freon.
The blower on the furnace is on a seperate fuse; the fan can run if that fuse is working; but if the AC fuse is out then the AC will not run; they both have to have working fuses.
Check the breaker box, the outside unit has a bigger 220 breaker and it is usually the prob when your unit is not coming on. First place to check, anyway. May even be a separate breaker box by the unit.
