Help! my husband burned tinfoil onto the bottom of my oven! Its melted and its stuck!?
Question:Uh, yea...how did he do that?
All the people I have asked so far have never even heard of anyone literally "melting" tinfoil to the bottom of an oven.
It looks like someone took that soft metal that comes on a spool used to fix metal objects and spread it all over the bottom, and wow does it stink!!
I'm hoping someone can help me, we just moved to this house, and its an expensive oven!!
HELP!!
Answers:
If you have homeowner's insurance: new stove. It was an accidental fire.
Try putting it in teh microwave.
You could try scraping it off. If you let the oven heat up a bit, the metal should soften enough to be taken off with a spatula. Just a suggestion; I don't know if it'll work.
try soaking with vinegar or amonia oir make a baking soda paste or try oil
Tinfoil itself cannot melt unless its above 600 or so degrees which is unachievable by most ovens. If it does melt, since its so thin, it will turn into ash. Most likely its food, oil, or crumbs that are burnt to your oven. Use a scraper or high density sponge like a SOS pad. Remember if you can find a way to let soapy water sit on top of it the easier it will be to clean.
answer # 2 & 3,,,& easy off...just keep scrubbing sorry :(
Remove all the racks, and gently apply some glycerine. Try to shift it off ith a spachelor. If it doesn't work, try some bicarb and vinegar then ease it off with a spachelor. Repeat until done.
You could try oven cleaner, spray it a couple of times leaving a couple of hours between coatings, then let it sit overnight.
oven cleaner!spray on tinfoil and let it soak over night.
but first make sure you can use cleaner in your oven.
also your oven may be self cleaning.call the store where you got your oven to be sure and safe.after soaking over night
wipe it off.
