There are paints, stains and sealers that have a sand like mixture in them that you could use. What ever the product is that is used for the texture is better than sand because it will not flake off with traffic. Most home centers will show you these products in their paint sections.
In some cases the slipperiness on a deck can be from slime from excess moisture and nature. Maybe a good power washing and scrubbing and treatment with a mildew killer maybe needed before you do any sealing.
Try painting a clear coat with sand in it.
Try covering it with a non slip coating, ie; varnish with some fine sand mixed into it.
Put something sticky on it.
You may think about placing down temporary non-slip door mats and runners. Although if you can find paint or sealer with a sand or texture like the others said, that would probably also be a good thing.

Clear coat with sand should work well. I don't know if you want to mix it in though. I have a painted garage floor that is also very slippery when it's wet. I gathered some old paint from friends and rolled it out and then poured sand over it while still wet. Let it dry a day, then swept up. It has worked very well, although the areas where the car tires run wore down fast, but the steps and other walking areas are still good after 4 years.
