How do i unclog my bath tub?
Question:i already used this stuff in a yellow bottle that looks like a clear liquid just like water. everytime somebody takes a shower the water doesnt go down the drain.
is there something i can do or buy at the store?
Answers:
take the plunger to it too (after the chemical treatment) - can't hurt!
try liquid plumber or bleach
In my experience the crystal drano stuff works a lot better than the liquid stuff, especially if you have a lot of hair in the drain.I would suggest putting some down every month once you get it unclogged to keep it that way. Also there are these things you can buy that catch hair so that it won't go down the drain and clog it up. Good luck!
As ridiculous as it sounds, try a toilet plunger until you hear the clog start moving. You'll definitely hear it. It's worked for me. Try pouring bleach at full strength down the drain, and then working a it with a toilet plunger. From thereafter, pour draino down your tub once a month to prevent this from happening again.
And remember that draino and other drain cleaners are more for preventative maintenance than they are a problem solver. People get the wrong idea and end up having to have a snake run through their drain and paying way too much money for something that could've been prevented.
Hair will clog your drains and cause these issues as a result of not using preventative measures to help keep these things from happening.
Go green and try vinegar and baking soda. It will bubble up and break up the clog. Pour the baking soda first into the drain and then the vinegar. Also, I have heard that Coke works.imagine what it does to our stomachs!! You may have to plunge it first or even snake it to break up what is in there, maybe it's more than just hair...ewwwwww :)
Have fun and good luck!!
I had the same problem and no matter what I used the tub was still clogged. I went to the Home depot and purchased one of the drain cleaners that is used by the guys at Roto Rooter. This machine is electric and has the long snake line that spins and reaches for so many feet into the pipe. It comes with 4 different ends to actually drill through whatever is the source of the clog.
unscrew the metal piece on top of the drain.thats where most of the problems are..hair collects right there.it it very simple to do.unscrew it lift it up,remove the collected hair, and then put guard back on.
