What makes a setaline torch pop when you're using it?

Question:When using a setaline torch it pops, is it the O / gas mixture ratio that's the problem? or what?

Answers:
Keep the tip off the metal your cutting and try clean the holes in the tip. They make a set of tip cleaners you can get at most hardware stores.

An acetylene torch pops when the flame is briefly extinguished as when the tip is put against the piece being cut.
It could be a backfire because the pressures are not set right. Read your operators manual for recommended pressures.
You could also have moisture in your gas ... how old is your gas and have you blown out your hose lately?
