How do i install motor in cooler?
Question:Installing 3/4 2 speed motor but the power in high speed is inadequate.
Answers:
what voltage, hp,amps, and rpm was the old motor...new motor has to be an exact match or it will not work correctly...what do you mean power in high speed is inadequate...not enough rpm.what kind of motor is this direct drive or split phase or capacitor start belt driven ...i can help you but need much more information.
You need to replace the motor you have now with one that has a greater rpm's at high speed. Grainger or Mc Master might be a source for a replacement motor.
If the motor is still in good shape, why not replace the pulley on the squirrel cage? If you reduce the diameter of the pulley, the squirrel cage will turn faster and you'll see an increase in the airflow in the duct. Check it out, a pulley and a new belt is a lot cheaper than a new motor.
