How can I get rid of a woodchuck that continues to dig & tunnel under my house?I?

Question:I have tried trapping it in a have a heart trap. I do not own a gun to shoot it. I think it is just smarter than I am

Answers:
If you dont want to kill it, and you cant trap it yourself, there are animal removal services out there that can.
If it doesnt matter, spread out some poison.
Before you do though, throw a box of moth balls under the house and spread em around especially where he keeps digging in. This will usually deter most animals form wanting to be in there.
You can even go to Lowes or Home Depot and find an animal repellant. I dont remember the name but it works on all kinds of animals from deer to mice.

Place some kind of explosive in the tunnel, and when you see the lil **** run in there, push a button and blow him up, haha! Or something with a fuse maybe, that way once he went in the tunnel, you could light the fuse. lol. Have you tried putting rat poisoning or something to that sort in there maybe on some food or something. I dont know, never had a woodchuck problem. Good luck with it though, and BE SMARTER THAN THE WOODCHUCK!
A .22 caliber rifle will solve that problem.
We had this problem when we lived in a sawmill cabin. Man did the place stink when the weather got hot! We took the rifle to town every time we went, and when we got back we shot them off the porch. Anyone you know owns a 22 caliber?
Otherwise, a dog may help.
It must be a lot smarter than the chipmunk I caught today. I put out a live trap without any bait in it and the darned thing just ran in there. Curiosity killed the 'munk! (yeah, then I shot it with a pellet gun)

We had a woodchuck a few years back that was living in the neighbors wood pile. I convinced the neighbor to get the wood up off the ground and never saw the woodchuck again.

Live traps seem to be as good as anything for a determined animal. I don't like poison because if it dies in or under the house it will stink up the place. If the gun laws permit it, you could always find someone that would come over and shoot it for you just for the sport of it. I've always wanted to put out a bunch of spring loaded mouse traps in and around an animal hole. It won't kill it but it will certainly dissuade it from comming back.

And if you have the burning desire to follow the advice above and use explosives, you are definitely dumber than a woodchuck!
Snare it, then take it to McDonalds, they buy them for their Quarter Pounders.
