The glass was a drink glass broken from the surprize of finding bodies ...because as we know, the baseball didn't break a window pane...the Flintstones didn't have window panes.
Barney was killed by Fred after they had sex.
Fred then took his own life by hanging.
the ball flew through the open window, hitting the FISHBOWL on the table, breaking it and killing the fish.
