How do i unblock a toilet?
Question:I tried plunging, a coathanger to push the block but nothing seems to work. i would rather not call a plumber..help me

In the picture is a toilet auger. If your toilet is just clogged with a huge, gigantic, industrial, monster size poo a plunger will usually free up the clog.
You have to make a good seal with the plunger then plunge the handle up and down. You are not lifting the plunger but you are keeping the rubber tightly to the bottom of the toilet. You are just pushing down on the handle and pulling it up so the rubber end is pushing and pulling the water and poo. You are really trying to pull the poo out rather than push it down.
all hardware stores carry a manuel toilet plunger for a few dollars, they are made just for toilets and work very well.Richard

Keep trying with the plunger (put your back into it!) and if you still have no success, go for the snake. It won't be pretty, but you will unblock that drain.
try drano crystals clog remover. I help mine work better. Good luck.
If the water level returns to normal after a while I then flush the toilet and pour a bucket of water down at the same time and the increase in flow sometimes works.

What a lame question. Real snakes? Anaconda,s work best. They are bigger around. Just get a REAL toilet plunger. That will work. Hell, if nothing else take the two screws off the toilet bottom and clean it out by hand.
And quit eating such high fiber cereal!
Did you try flushing the toilet after you plunged it? Often the clog will have been pushed free but the water will still remain in the toilet bowl.
