Pool Heater pilot lite?
Question:My Purex Triton MiniMax Plus 400 pool heater pilot lite seems to be out. It sounds like it's trying to lite but it won't lite..any ideas?

Sounds like it's trying to light? Tick, tick, tick? You have gas, right? Gas valve in the ON position? Ensure the electrode is in good order and alignment. 3/16..to a 1/4 inch spark.

if its making a click click click ckick sound than it sounds like a electric igniter are you sure that the gas is on I would check the gas supply or the thermo cuple if its clicking dont sound like gas is geting to it my 2 cents
Pool heaters also have a pressure switch in them... sometimes you just need to backwash the pool to get the pressure down a little... try that before you buy any parts.
You need a new ignitor for the heater.
Thermo couple is bad. simple fix. go to the local lumber yard and he will sell you one and tell you how to put it in. Good Luck.
