Double glazed windows difficult to open (Safestyle)?

Question:I've recently moved in to a house which has had it's doubleglazing fitted by Safestyle (cowboys).

I won't go in to all of the problems I have found (and started to rectify), but one in particular has me stumped. The black seal, which sits against the "opening" windows, sticks to the frame meaning you really have to lean against the window to open it, when you do you can start to hear the seal give way then it suddenly opens, which also leaves a black line on the window where the seal obviously touches.

I've cleaned off this black mark previously using white spirit but it returns again when the window is closed for a long period (24 hrs).

Any ideas how i can get rid of this problem?

The best thing to use is armorall. I used this and was taught this by Pella window service school.

.
Sounds like they were installed rubbisha to begin with. Google Pilkington Glass/Technical. They have a number to call. Maybe they can help?
Wipe it over with some vaseline. This will make it a little more supple and should ease the problem. If you have purchased the house, was there any guarantees with the paperwork. If it has'nt been in very long it may still be under guarantee and Safestyle will have to honour it.Ask the neighbours they may know when it was put it.Good luck with it.
open the window to the widest point and use a silicone spray all around the black seal remember to oil the hinges periodically good luck
Appears that the sash is closing too tightly . Look at the cams ( the locks) down the side of the window and you will see that there a hole in the middle you can adjust these cams with an alon key although they appear to be round they actually pivot , as you adjust notice the cam moving outwards for looser inwards for tighter.
