That's basically what they are used for. The only thing you want to check is that you have the correct size white pipe. It comes in schedule 30 and schedule 40 . This is referring to the thickness of the walls of the pipe. Schedule 30 is a thinner wall than schedule 40. Adapters or shims as they are sometimes called allow you to adapt one size to the other. Schedule 30 is OK for inside the house but schedule 40 should be used for outside or underground work. If you can read any of the writing on the pipe it should say what size and what schedule it is.
