Question:

Answers:
Not really. You may have to get a new coil. Edit your question and add your serial number and model number and I can tell you if it is under warranty. I work at a Trane distrubitor here in So Md.
Sometimes the price of a new coil can cost about the same as a whole new unit. good luck and let me know what area you are in. If your in my region I might be able to help you find a trustworthy servicer.

If I understand you correctly, the hole is in the solder, which looks like aluminum. They shouldn't have two different types of metal touching each other because they will react. If it is just the solder, then yes it can be fixed. I would contact an HVAC professional to take care of this. Chances are that they will need to check your refrigerant levels and possibly recharge the lines.
Both copper or aluminum can be fixed, aluminum takes someone with alittle more skill however. If you found the leak without using a leak detector its probably an obvious one with some oil in the area of the leak, that will save you money when the service company comes out to leak check, be sure they install a new liquid line drier before they evacuate and recharge the system!
