Approximately how much does it cost to burn a pilot light in a gas fireplace each month?

Question:I have two gas fireplaces and it's very hard to light the pilot light every Winter when I want to use the fireplaces. I'm thinking of just leaving the pilot light on all year but concerned about the cost.

Approximately how much does it cost to burn a pilot light in a gas fireplace each month?

Answers:
well, I dont know anything about gas delivery fees but I would say it would cost you less than 2 bucks a month.it;s comparable to you water heater pilot but then again if you aren't using the fireplace for months it would be less than 2 bucks..I'm just sayin

Its not the cost of the burning gas that gets you, its the gas delivery fees from the power company.
Our fee is $50 a month just to let the gas flow through the lines. I shut my pilot off in summer and eliminate the fees. (if there's no gas being delivered, they can't charge you for it.)
It probaly costs less than $4 a month, however if it is your only gas appliance, I'd just have the gas shut off in the summer time. That will avoid all of the taxes, delivery charges and universal service fees.
