Answers:
Until you can get the problem fixed, prop a chair or a box or something heavy against the door to keep it shut
you may need to try to level the fridge.. there should be little twistable knob like legs that the fridge sits on.. you will need more than one person to do this..
: )
Hurry! Run out and by a cooler and some ice!
Than go refrigerator shopping!
For NOW YOU CAN PUT A CHAIR ON THE DOOR OR TIE IT SHUT WITH SOME STRING UNTIL YOU CAN GET SOMEONE OUT TO LOOK AT IT.
The bottom of the fridge should have adjustable feet. Turn them so that they tilt the fridge back slightly, causing the door to stay shut. If it is not sealing in just one are, the door might be slightly warped and a little muscle should un warp it.
get somone to fix it or buy a new fridge
The Fridge SEAL . go get another fridge Seal, it will help wonders.. till then toss all your fridge food in a cooler chest with ice and tackle your issue. Good Luck, Home Depot is good at helping if no Depot, start asking questions anyway...and don't forget to grab the Name/ Model/ Serial number of your fridge.
First check and make sure nothing in the fridge is sticking out far enough to prevent the door from closing. Then check the level. Next, check the hinges on the door. They can be loose, causing the door to hang a little crooked. If none of above, call an appliance repair man.
Get some electric tape and tape it closed
gawd wut would lazy people do with out me?
here are the steps?
1. get a phonebook
2. then look up a repair man
3. then call the #
in the meantime put duct tape on the door!
Have you had the drawers out of the fridge lately? Make sure you have them installed properly if you have. That's the only other thing I can think of other than the adjustable legs and the door being twisted.
Most refrigerators have a nylon cam device on the bottom hinge that helps keep the door closed. Inspect it closely, I think you"ll find that it's worn.
It sounds like something inside is holding the door open, that is what has happened to us before. Check how things are setting inside.
