I am assumimng that these are gas burners. Do you have piezo (electric spark) ignition or a pilot light?
If it is in fact an electric burner, you may need to replace the burner elements. As the metal or conductor of the element breaks down it loses it's ability to conduct heat efficiently.
Ignitors are a common replacement item. They loose effectiveness and produce a spark to weak to ignite the gas.
Ebay or http://www.repairclinic.com/0070.asp... are places to find replacements. The latter also has troubleshooting advice.
You might need to replace the burner parts. That happened to my Mom's .and when we put the new ones on, it worked fine. You might try cleaning the plug-in part at the end.It might be full of grease which is preventing it from getting the electrical current. They sell electrical contact cleaners, but I don;t know if that will remove grease. Try rubbing Alcohol and a toothbrush, but be sure it's dry before reconnecting. You don't need a free trip into outerspace! Bye
