What would cause an air conditioning to leak?

Question:the inside part not the outside unit.

Answers:
the drain line is stopped up ..all you nned to do is disconnect the drain line from the unit and blow it out with a water hose or compressed air.usually it will be stopped up in the trap or the part of the drain line that is U shaped

It's really not leaking, there is condensation building up and dripping because of the relative humidity and the temperature of the ductwork.

Put a towel in a dish to catch the condensation and swap it out everyday, no worries.
Two things:
1: The unit is dirty. You should take it outside and hose it off every six months or so to get rid of excess dirt. Condensation will collect on the dirt.

2: If it's mounted so the inside part is higher than the outside part, the water from normal condensation will drip inside instead of outside. See if you can raise it up with a wooden block on the inside to keep this from happening.
If it is a window unit it's because its no longer tilted back. Window units have to be installed so that the outside is tilted back so that the water will run out.
