Why would my washer tub bounces all around after running smoothly for a few seconds even when empty?
Question:it is a top load kenmore direct drive. i was curios to where the tub was actually suppose to be seated. i check the springs. they are o.k.. i was told about some type of pads i checked for the i can't even locate them.i laid the tub on it's side to repair the couplers but that wasn't needed. i wonder if that's what happened to cause this problem.
Answers:
The load is unbalanced when it goes into the fast spin cycle and/or the shock absorbing springs have weakened.
Make sure, with a level, that it's balanced... Use a level, front to back and side to side... Should be level both directions.
If not, it can bounce a bit.
there's a ghost in there, and he's trying to get out.
I don't know what kind of pads this might be either you mentioned but there are four rubber straps that keep the tub from bouncing all over when in the spin mode these are located on top of the tub and are usually attached to the top frame or housing of the machine and when any of these break it will cause the machine to shake pretty violently in the spin mode or perhaps bang the tub on the sides of the machine while in the regular wash mode.
The pads you mentioned could very well be your problem. When you open the top of the washer, the "buffer" should be on the right side and is attached with a bolt on bracket. The buffer slides in the bracket and rubs against the tub housing to keep it from bouncing around.
did you remove the shipping pins
their are 3
located in the swashplate below the tub
