Do ceramic heaters use more energy when cold?
Question:i have a 250 watt screw in heater that is for a reptile terranium.
It is one 24/7 and was wondering does it draw more power
when its cold? does resistance of a wire change with temperature?

You get what you pay for with heaters, the better the quality usually means you will have a more efficient heating element, any heater is going to draw more power when its cold. Wire resistance is not effected by temp. change
Check the amperage for that heater if it is over 20Amps you might want to consider something else. Your amperage will run up your electrical bill
