Depending how big the hole is you can try putting scotch tape over it. If it's bigger, my grandmother used to take a piece of screen a little bit bigger than the hole and a needle and thread and sew the new piece on to cover the hole.

Replacing a nylon screen is very easy. Any hardware store can sell you the new material, the screed (rubber liner that holds the screen to the frame channel), and a hand tool for pressing the screen into the channel. A 3x4 ft screen should take only 10-15 minutes to replace and it will look beautiful. Patching is also possible, although it looks tacky. An aluminum screen can be easily patched with another piece and pressed into place, but that doesn't work as well with nylon.
