My above ground pool has high alkalinity. What can I do to level it?

Question:Thanks for any answers!

Answers:
Well you can do one of two things.
1. Add pool chemical acid
2. wait for the next rain shower/storm.

I would wait on the rain. There is enough acid in the modern acid rain to kill any alkalinity problems you have!

Drain some water out and go to http://appliancequickfix.com/
they have a good page on pool water
Add muriatic acid. A steady pour in one spot in the deep end.

1.3 pints will lower 10,000 gallons by 10ppm. It'll also slightly lower the pH. Test next day.
