Why does my garage door automatically open when I close it?

Question:

Answers:
Might be a problem with your sensor in your control pad. I used to have that issue myself.

check to see if anything is blocking the mechanism at the bottom of the door
Do you have sensor on your garage door? If so, check it out. I had this problem once and all it ended up being was a tiny piece of leaf on a spiderweb that occasionally dangled in front of the sensor.
On each side of the opening to your garage you should have 2 small square camera looking things. These are sensors. They put a laser beam across the open to prevent the door from coming down on someone or something. There is most likely something obstructing it. It could be as small as a spider web. Mine does this quite frequently and this is always the first thing I check.
If you have checked the safety sensors and thats not the problem you may have wires misconnected. You will need to check the lift box to make sure all the wires are connected properly. That could be all there is to it.
