It is more along the lines of how many watts of elecricty is being used. If it uses 100 watts, and you run it for 10 hours, that will be one kilowatt, so if you use it 8 times a day, 30 seconds each time, gives you 4 minutes a day. Based on a 30 day month, that is 2 hours (30 times 4 minutes=120 minutes) or .2 kilowatt hour. Multiply that by your kilowat cost (say .25 per kwh) and you have .05
It does not run alot of wattage, would cost more to turn on and off a 100 watt light 8 times, would say pennies a day
