My inground spinkler got rammed deep into my lawn somehow. How do I fix it?

Question:I think it might have gotten run over while it was running at some point. Now when it's off it is very deep in the ground and I can't reach it and when its on the sprinkler gets barely over the ground and just sprays the grass right next to it.

Get a shovel and cut out the grass around the sprinkler head and set aside. dig around the sprinkler head. Check the pipe that connects to the sprinkler and make sure it isn't damaged. Pull the sprinkler head back up so the top is at grass level. Use some dirt under it to keep it in that position and refill the hole.
