Window unit AC- Does it use up more electricity when set in cool than when in fan?

Question:thank you much.

Answers:
I agree with the other answers..the compressor has a start and run terminal on it..it pulls more power on the start up and drops to the run terminal

When you set the unit on fan only the fan is working to circulate air. When you set the unit to the cool position the compressor comes on and then the heat removal process begins.
So the answer to you question is yes the unit uses more power in the cool position.
It definitely uses more electricity because the compressor is running when set to cool. The compressor probably uses 5X more power than the fan
yeah its actully doing more then twisting a fan around. its talking air and cooling then moving it into the room,. but fan just turns and blows
Yes, it does
