Sticky pop up sprinkler heads?

Question:Is there something to spray on sticky pop up. I have some that won't go down.

Answers:
Hi,You really should take them off all together, and clean the spray nozzle out(bugs crawl inside of them) and oil them with ,Three in One, or WD-40 . Also white lithium Grease works. Before you put them back into their place, turn the water on and blow all the mud out of the pipes. That's all that can really go wrong with them, unless of course, your gardeners mow them down like ours does. Bye

You prob have bits of dirt in there, take the sprinkler head off and clean it.
This is generally caused by foreign matter getting in between the riser tube and the wiper. This is most commonly sand or grass clippings/roots. Outside of replacing the head completely, you can unscrew the top cap and remove the shaft and guts, give them a thorough cleaning making sure any sand, grass, roots and other debris are cleaned out.
