I have a Kenmore Dishwasher...It make a lot of noise...?
Question:I have a 2003 Kenmore Ultrawash dishwaser. It suddenly started making a loud rushing noise and it has been getting worse. It costs a lot of money to have someone look at it. I need help from someone to help me find the problem. HELP ME PLEASE!

How much do you want to get dirty? You are going to have to pull the unit out of its place. Their will be some cords and hoses attatched to it. It is OK to detatch the electrical, because it is probably an outlet. Do not undo the water until the water is off in the house. You will have more problems than a noisey dishwasher. The problem with it is that your dishwasher is unbalanced. You are going to have to find out why. On the bottom of the dishwasher is a motor and a big disc, they are attached with a belt . After the power has been turned off to the unit, move the belt in a direction slowly and watch the disc. If it does not turn evenly (ie no side to side motion) then there might be a problem with your pump. If it does though then you have to find the thing that it making it go off balance. Look in the inside around the sprayers, their are sometime more than one. If their is something that is jammed up around the shaft, clean it out. If it looks ok, go to the bottom side again and try to wiggle the disc. If it has a lot of play you may have to adjust the tension on the disc. Pull out the owners manual and look for a tightening tension. There should be a bolt or screw somewhere. If it is cracked, then too bad so sad, you are going to have to get it repaired unless you are really handy with tearing dishwashers apart. Which by that time, you might as well buy a brand new one, or check craigslist.com.
We had a similar problem. Make sure the plate beneath the door is not too tight, also if you have a grate, make sure the guard is not on wrong.
