Covering sump pump cover pvc pipe hole?

Question:Hello after installing our back up sump pump I found the hole where the PVC pipe comes out is too big. Is there something I can put around the hole? The pipe moves a little when the sump pump shoots out the water. I want to make sure it is stabilized.

Answers:
Simple foam type insulation will do the trick. Go to the hardware store and buy some, it will come in roles and looks like expanded foam. Tell the person at the store what you want it for and they will get the right stuff.

The pipe should be stabilized from a wall. If it keeps moving, the PVC pipe will be weakened and eventually break.
