I have a painted cast iron tub and was wondering if I could re-paint it with swimming pool paint?

Question:I have tried the tub resurfacing kits at Lowes and that lasted about a year.. Want something cheap, easy to clean, that will last a couple of years..

Answers:
Go ahead and try, it should be alright. I have never seen that done, but it sounds feasible. You might want to use sand paper to rough up the finish, so the paint will stick. good luck!

Tub resurfacing has to be done by the pros. I've seen some good ones. Seen one years and years later, and it was still good. About 300 dollars to save the ol' cast iron tub. Can't replace it for that.

I suggest biting the bullet and have a pro do it.
Or, replace the tub. They make some composite tubs that are really good and cheap.

Or, scrap the paint off and live with it. Or is it that bad of shape and unsightly?
