HELP with AIR CONDITIONERS?

Question:i need an air conditioner to suit a 400 square ft. room what size should it be? we have 3 windows in that room

Answers:
if you live in the southern USA`and your room faces southwest then a 10000 btu air conditioner would do a very good job...as you need aproximately 12000 btu for every 500 to 650 sq ft in the southern USA.this also depends on how well the room is insulated ,whether you have double pane windows, and the direction the room faces..if the afternoon sun shines through the windows or hits the walls on that room then it will need all 10,000 btus to keep it cool.

ok since you have the square ft of the room take what you ahve to your local home depot or lowes and tell them what you are looking for they will help alot not everyone takes the messurements of there room
Is this room in Seattle Washington or Palm Springs California?

How cold to you want to make the room?
about 8000 - 11000 b.t.u.'s
12000 max.
First as another has asked it does depend on where you live and the climate there. Secondly you can only go up to 12000btu on 110v a/c...so unless you have a 220V outlet in the room you are restricted to 12000 btu anyway..email me if you have any further questions and I will be glad to help tvtop_toptv
