Washing machine spin cycle not the best. Fix or ditch.?
Question:My washing machine is about 15 years old and have found that after the final spin dry cycle has finished, that the clothes are still a little bit drippy (like it hasn't spun them fast enough to get all the excess water out) It spins, but I don't think its fast enough. Could this be the motor or what? and Is it worth fixing, or getting a new one?
Answers:
If it is a belt driven model - that could be the problem and easy to fix. The drain may also be clogged with some trash.
Dont ditch it, until you go to http://appliancequickfix.com/
and see what the problem is....very easy !
Tough call. With it being 15 years old, you may start having other problems too. Like seals leaking or transmission problems. Probably best to go ahead and bite the bullit and get another one. There are some new models out there that are more efficient. good luck
First check your drain line to make sure it is open. Your water pump may be worn or lint maybe stopping up the small drain holes under the agitator I would check all this first.
most likely the pump just needs replaced as these do wear out...they normally cost about 30 dollars and are fairly easy to install.
After 15 yrs it is starting to wear out so it is time to get a new one . You can fix it but other things will start to break down soon .
