Something else called Simple Solution - like Nature's Miracle - we washed the wood floors with it, everything - it does not stain. Also another "household miracle" is hydrogen peroxide - it cleans and deoderizes anything. It even gets blood out of white cotton. Peroxide will clean your wood floors beautifully, and not damage. You will have to wax after; but the result is fabulous!

Good luck!

use nature's miracle. it works!
WHen we moved into our house it smelled like a zoo. We have carpet, and I had to vacuum 5 times before I got all the hair up. I also used Kilz for the walls, and bought some of that paint additive for the color coat. The carpet I shampoed myself and for the first few months used that pet odor powder stuff when I vacuumed. It worked pretty well, after about a month it smelled like my house, not some pit! Good luck, wish I could think of something else to help!
I have restored several of these zoo type dwellings and to be perfectly truthful, removing the carpet and bleach cleaning the floor, then laying new carpet is the only way to completely clean the smell issues and make sure that they wont return. The problem with cleaning your existing carpet is that any urine has gone through the carpet and well into the padding. If the pet has used the same area over and over, then the urin has made it all of the way to the wood below. This cannot be cleaned effectively with a carpet cleaner. Good luck.
I smoked up my house with a burned steak, smokey.I took down my curtains. Then I washed the walls with vinegar water.Washed the curtains in vinegar water, mopped ,then vacuumed floors. Then I sprayed vinegar(plain) over my carpet and let dry with a fan, then sprayed again. My landlord never knew it.Now I can say I cleaned up my smoke mess.Really worked for me.I use it like Fabreze...Cheaper.
