Portable upright air conditioner water drain?

Question:i have a portable upright air conditioner that has 2 hoses you put out the window,,,the first year i had it i didnt have to drain it once,,,the next year, it seems every 4 or 5 days its leaking from the drain plug and ruing my hardwood floor,,why might this be? it is driving me nuts, and when it comes to anything mechanical, i have the iQ of a grapefruit any help would be greatly appreciated

Answers:
Simply put, the more moisture you have in the air, the more your a/c is going to take out of the air.

As far as the drain plug leaking, there should be a rubber o-ring on it to seal it. If it's not there anymore, you can either try to find a new one or use pipe dope to seal it so it won't leak anymore.
