Will anything happen to my liner or pool if i drain the water and clean the walls and bottom?

HALT! CEASE! DESIST! NO!

You run a serious risk of the liner shrinking back to normal size and then never returning. If you insist on draining off the water leave at least 10 inches in the bottom to apply enough weight to keep the liner stretched.

A much easier way than this is to crawl into the pool with a mask and snorkel and a scrub brush. Brush the walls this way if you don't have decking all the way around the pool to allow you to do brushing from the outside.

But please, I implore you, do not drain off the water from the pool unless you leave at least ten inches in the bottom. Too many people this year have had to replace liners by listening to poor advice given on these Q&A boards.

We just did this today. It's so hard to keep the walls clean without actually scrubbing them.
No i don't think so.
i would try and leave abput 3 to 4 inches of water in the bottom when the liner gets dry after its had one or more . seasion of being shocked and treated it will be more brittle. from my experence i use to just pump out most of the water get all the leaves and crap out re full the poll and get a bounch of kids in t to make a world pool and keep vaccuming it they make this crap i forget whats its called but if you goto a pool sgtore and ask they can help you taht takes all the cloudy crap from shocking the pool and makes it all sink to the bottom so you can vaccume it all out
good luck. Usually if you go a few cases of beer you cxan get all te work done for you for free
its best if you dont let all the water out if you see the sides turning in id stop that what we always did we would drain has much we could then jump in and clean it off you know ... hey try this.this yr when you are done drain alot out and add alot of chems and every once in a while turn on the pump and let it run if you take care of pool in the winter also it wont turn on ya... dont take much since it cold and no one is in it... dont mean it dont need looking after too... ive had mine so long it was four inche shorter rusted off the bottom when we replace it the last time id leave 8 inches or so dont drain it all out it might fall
Start draining in the afternoon, so that the sun will be down before it empties out. Yes, you can empty it out. Do your cleaning and patch any holes while it is empty. Make sure you refill it before the sun comes up in the morning. I've done this many times and never experienced shrinkage.
