How to change a belt on a JD riding mower...?

Question:Does anyone know how to change the belt on a John Deere L130 riding lawn mower? The manual is very vague, and includes nothing on this. The belt has come off and seems WAY to big. Anything helpful would be much appreciated!!

Answers:
Depends on what belt has snapped. The mower deck may have to be removed to change the transaxle belt. The deck may stay in place to change the mower belt. Best to change the belt at the deck's lowest setting.

take it to a Lowes store,, they now sell and service them.. they may have updated manuals and you can make a copy from them! they may even help you put it on if you buy a belt from them. you can also go to john deers web site and look for updated manuals or ask them on-line!!!
As complicated as it seems it's not.
All you have to do is write down step by step each clip and fastener you take loose to remove that deck if you need too because all models are different and some you just lower the deck all the way down and reach in and change the belts.

Now as for removing the deck it's basic common sense.

You can visually see what needs to be removed to drop that deck. Write each step as you go this way you know where it all goes back.

A friend of mine had a cell phone camera that he used and took pictures before taking it apart to put another belt on.
This way you have something to fall back on should you lose your place.
